Beginning
Black Leather Krew Productions began in 2018 as an in-house production team for Vendetta Pro Wrestling, a live event organization then running out of Santa Maria, California.
Our goal was to promote upcoming shows and produce a web series featuring matches, highlights, and interviews with the stars of Vendetta Pro Wrestling.
Featuring long time Vendetta Pro Wrestling Public Relations Director Joseph Duncan, and Vendetta Pro Wrestling camera operator Peter Bedrossian, we were joined with video editor and performer Nataniel Lopez to form a three person team who would go on to create and distribute video and promotional materials for Vendetta Pro Wrestling.
Eventually, the team started working with another promotion, LUCHAPRO, a live event organization running out of Los Angeles, California. The three members of what would be later known as Black Leather Krew Productions began producing the same types of promotional materials and video for LUCHAPRO as we were for Vendetta Pro Wrestling.
Not long after, Vendetta Pro Wrestling has ceased operations (though they soon restarted and rebranded to Pro Wrestling Unplugged), and the once in-house production team spun off into a seperate organization independent of any one promotion. Since then, we have expanded into different avenues, ranging from gaming streams to assisting with live event productions including youth league and high school football, as well as high school and professional league basketball.
In 2023, Black Leather Krew Productions helped our friends launch their new YouTube channel and to produce content for that very channel. We look forward to continuing working to create with them.
We are a small team of novices, striving to constantly improve our skills and work with other creators to help them achieve their goals as we work to achieve ours.
Where Did The Name Come From?
It began as a joke. Three members of a MicroMania Tour event were talking under the stage lights following the event. Someone pointed our that all three were wearing black leather jackets. The three men posed for a picture, and were joking called the “Black Leather Krew”. What was meant to be a one-off joke started to spread, as other members of the Vendetta Pro Wrestling and MicroMania Tour became unofficial members of the ‘Krew’ (there was never any official members, as it was never meant to be a thing). Usually the same people that would hang out with each other following events. As Vendetta Pro Wrestling began winding down and the in-house production team decided to spin off their operations, they needed a name. One candidate was “Fone It In Productions”, as much of the production was done on mobile devices. However, it was chosen to continue using the name “Black Leather Krew”.
As for the photo that started it all? Richie Slade, Joseph Duncan and Vintage Dragon. The ‘original’ Black Leather Krew:
